What are the eligibility requirements to become a Foster Grandparent or Senior Companion?

Persons must be 60 years of age and meet income eligibility guidelines.

How much does it cost to have a Foster Grandparent or Senior Companion?

There is no cost for the services of a Foster Grandparent or Senior Companion volunteer.

What do volunteers do in home placements?

Foster Grandparent activities include: tutoring, mentoring, serving as role models for special needs children (birth-21 years), and assisting teenage mothers and their babies with proper nutrition, budgeting, and home management.

Senior Companion activities include: providing companionship, respite for caregivers, cooking a light meal, assisting with grocery shopping, reading, and writing letters.
