Foster Grandparent Program

WAGES Community Action. Helping People. Changing Lives.

The WAGES Foster Grandparent Program provides meaningful and challenging volunteer opportunities for seniors age 55 and older. Foster Grandparents support the future by serving as mentors, tutors, and caregivers to special needs children and teenage mothers. They serve at 11 volunteer stations throughout the county.

 The benefits of becoming a Foster Grandparent include:

  • Volunteer 20 hr. per week (Mon. - Fri.)
  • An hourly stipend
  • Transportation allowance
  • Annual physical examinations
  • Accident/liability insurance
  • Monthly in-service trainings
  • Cultural outings
  • Ongoing recognitions
