WAGES Head Start is a federally
funded child development program that strives to:
- Enhance children's growth and development
- Strengthen families as their child's primary
teacher and nurturer
- Provide children with education, health and
nutrition support services
- Link children and families to an array of
community services
Preparing children for a healthy beginning and ready
to succeed and learn when they enter school is the goal of WAGES Head
Start. Parents are involved in all aspects of programming and
decision making.
WAGES is
known for providing quality services to families:
WAGES also has three centers that have accreditation
from the National Association
for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The NAEYC
recognized these centers as being child development centers of extreme
quality.
In addition, WAGES Head Start and Early Head Start
received national recognition from the National
Head Start Association. The program received recognition as a
Program of Achievement.
