Job Title: Bilingual
Family Social Worker
- Department: WAGES Children &
Families
- Function: To
assist
in the planning and implementation of the family services component.
To create trusting partnerships with families that build on family
strengths, provide necessary supports to meet family goals, and
optimize the home environment for physical, mental, and emotional
well-being of children and their families by assisting them in
strengthening their parent/child relationship, reducing family stress,
and meeting the needs of parents.
- Education: Preferably a BA/BS degree in
social work or other human service related field and CDA credentials
for home visitors
- Experience: Experience
working with children and families
- Aptitudes: Excellent written and
oral communication skills (in English and Spanish); ability to
establish good rapport with others; good problem solving skills;
comfortable with in-home visitation; must have a valid driver's
license and obtain a CDL.
- Compensation: Entry-$30,000
annually
Job Title: Head
Start Teacher
- Department: WAGES Children &
Families
- Function: To
plan and implement teaching activities and the total program for a
class of children; to work collaboratively with teaching team; to work
with parents and the community.
- Education: Child Development Associate
credential, or a degree in Early Childhood Education or Child
Development with successful teaching experience in a day care or
preschool classroom; First Aid/CPR
Certification.
- Experience: Preferably
experience in early childhood education or child development and/or
experience working in a day care or preschool classroom
- Aptitudes: Ability to work
with staff, parents, children and volunteers; ability to keep timely
and accurate records; must maintain confidentiality of records and
communications. Must have
current annual physical including Tuberculin test or chest x-ray.
- Physical Demands: Lifting
children and other heavy objects
Job Title: Educare Teacher
- Department: WAGES Children &
Families
- Function: To
plan and implement teacher activities and total program for infant
& toddler classroom; to work collaboratively with teaching team
and with parents and the community.
- Education: Preferably
a degree in Early Childhood or Child Development; Child Development
Associate (CDA) credential for Infant/Toddlers; First Aid/CPR
certification
- Experience: Preferably
a Head Start/Early Head Start parent or a child care provider who is
familiar with the programs and/or from within the target area;
experience working with infant/toddlers.
- Aptitudes: Ability
to work with children and the disadvantaged; ability to assist in
record keeping duties; must maintain confidentiality; must have
current annual physical including Tuberculin test or chest x-ray.
- Physical Demands: Lifting
children and other heavy objects
Job Title:
Substitute Teacher
- Department: WAGES Children &
Families
- Function: To
assist in planning and implementing teaching activities and the total
program for a class of children
- Education: Preferably
high school diploma/GED.
- Experience: Preferably
a Head Start parent or person from the local community who is familiar
with Head Start program
- Aptitudes: Interested
in working with children and the disadvantaged; ability to relate to
people; ability to
assist in record keeping; ability to keep confidentiality of records
and communications.
- Physical Demands: Lifting
children and other heavy objects; cleaning classrooms
- Substitute
