WAGES Frequently Asked Questions: Medication Management

WAGES Community Action. Helping People. Changing Lives.

What is WAGES Medication Management?

WAGES Medication Management is a free community service that is funded by the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund. Prescription assistance is made available to low-income Wayne County residents.

Is prescription assistance a way to get my medications?

Yes. Prescription assistance allows qualifying Wayne County residents access to affordable or free long-term medications through Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Programs. You may qualify if you:

  • Have no prescription assistance insurance
  • Have limited income and resources
  • Are established with a local physician

If I qualify, how long does it take to get my medications?

Usually 4-6 weeks. We are a licensed pharmacy but we do not stock medications. We order them through the pharmaceutical companies, label them, and dispense them to you. Once you are enrolled into our program we continue to help you with your refills by completing all the necessary paperwork.
