Senior Companion Program

WAGES Community Action. Helping People. Changing Lives.

The WAGES Senior Companion Program provides meaningful and challenging volunteer opportunities for seniors age 55 and older. The volunteers provide companionship and respite services to elderly people in the community. They currently serve at 10 volunteer stations and in private homes.

The benefits of becoming a Senior Companion include:

  • Volunteer 20 hr. per week (Mon. - Fri.)
  • An hourly stipend
  • Transportation allowance
  • Annual physical examinations
  • Accident/liability insurance
  • Monthly in-service trainings
  • Cultural outings
  • Ongoing recognitions
