Prescription Assistance Coordinator
- Closing Date: July 8, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
- Department: Division of Older Adult Services
- Function: To manage the
Medication Management Office and to serve as the Prescription Assistance
Coordinator (PAC) for the Medication Management Program.
- Education:
Some training in
nursing, pharmacy or medical related field; Training in the use of
computers.
Experience:
Preferably experience supervising people or managing an office.
Aptitudes: Good people
skills; Must be attentive to detail in following requirements of the
program.
Self-Sufficiency Family Social Worker (Part-time,
time limited, with the potential for full-time)
- Closing Date: June 30, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
- Department: WAGES CSBG
- Function:
To assist with planning, implementing
and coordinating the Self-Sufficiency Project for WAGES; to monitor
progress of all participants enrolled in the Project and provide
intensive, individualized case management to participants toward
self-sufficiency.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree preferred in human services,
business or communications.
Experience:
Working experience with the
economically disadvantaged.
Aptitudes: Strong organizational skills required; ability to
manage funding systems; ability to work a flexible schedule; must have a
North Carolina driver’s license and be willing to obtain a CDL.
Weatherization Clerical Assistant
- Closing Date: July 8, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
- Department: Support Services
- Function: Receive and maintain client data and files in a
manner that facilitates reporting to the funding source, monitor files
for documentation and signatures required to consider a job "complete".
- Education: Preferably an Associates Degree in Business
Administration or comparable office/clerical training and experience
with concentration in computer use.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of general office experience
preferred.
- Expectations: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
including Word, Excel, and e-mail applications; ability to relate to
clients with varied backgrounds and experiences; ability to maintain
efficient office operations; ability to learn Weatherization
Database/Reporting Systems.
- Aptitudes: Ability to work as a team player with other
members of Weatherization staff; ability to work independently on
assigned projects and responsibilities and complete them in a timely and
efficient manner; ability to meet deadlines and work with minimum
supervision.
- Physical Demands: Ability to key data entry for long periods
of time into a computer, sitting, standing, bending, and speaking with
clients.
Weatherization Auditor/Technician
- Closing Date: July 8, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
- Department: Support Services
- Function: To audit homes according to Weatherization
guidelines to reduce energy costs and to improve the energy efficiency
of homes for low-income persons, while ensuring their health and safety
as specified in the Weatherization Program.
- Education: High School/GED Diploma
- Experience: Experience managing and directing work crews;
Carpentry experience; experience using electrical/power tools, measuring
devices and other equipment; knowledge/experience using insulation
machine.
- Aptitudes: Ability to communicate with management, clients,
and direct other weatherization field staff; HVAC knowledge; carpentry
skills; knowledge of housing structures; familiarity with measuring
instruments/devices; agile and capable of working in attics and crawl
spaces; above average reading and writing abilities; capable of using
computer and database technology; valid driver's license with clean
driving record; flexibility in work schedule.
- Physical Demands: Lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs
and being able to climb and balance on a 12-foot ladder for extended
lengths of time; bending and climbing; agile in crawling under houses
and mobile homes, in attics or crawl spaces; driving each day to job
sites.
- Working Conditions: Working indoors and outdoors, in attics
and under houses, subject to adverse weather while on job sites
including extreme heat and/or cold; ability to work without stopping for
long periods of time in a small trailer fully covered with jumpsuit,
safety goggles and respirator. Exposure to dust, cellulose, fiberglass,
mold or mildew is a possibility.
Weatherization Technician

- Department: Support Services
- Function: To install weatherization measures necessary to
reduce energy costs and improve energy efficiency of homes for
low-income persons while ensuring their health and safety as specified
in the Weatherization Program.
- Education: High School/GED Diploma
- Experience: Carpentry experience; experience using
electrical/power tools, measuring devices, and other equipment; and
knowledge/experience using insulation machine.

- Function: To assist in planning and implementing teaching
activities and the total program for a class of children.
- Education: Preferably a High School Diploma/GED
- Experience: Preferably a Head Start parent or person
from the local community who is familiar with the Head Start program.
- Aptitudes: Interested in working with children and the
disadvantaged; ability to relate to people; ability to assist in
record keeping; ability to keep confidentiality of records and
communications
- Physical Demands: Lifting children and other heavy objects,
cleaning classrooms.
