Notice is hereby given that Public Meetings will be held on:
In Person: Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 5:00pm at WAGES Multipurpose Room (601 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro, NC)
Virtual: Friday, December 17, 2021 at 12:00p.m. via WAGES Facebook page
The public hearing meeting will allow residents of Wayne County to have an opportunity to discuss and express their concerns with regards to providing a range of services to assist economically disadvantaged individuals, including the homeless population, and migrant families. Information gathered will be used in the 2022-2023 content of the CSBG grant.
WAGES plans to apply for the 2022- 2023 CSBG grant. The allocated amount has not been estimated for this year’s grant. This funding will be used to empower Wayne County’s economically disadvantage residents to 1) attain an education and 2) secure and retain sustainable employment by using funding provided by the Community Service Block Grant through the Office of Economic Opportunity for the next fiscal year, County Commissioners will review the application for 30 days and the WAGES Board of Directors will also provide approval of the CSBG Grant. The grant is available for public review and comment at the main office of WAGES located at 601 Royall Avenue, Goldsboro NC 27534.
The grant application is due January 14, 2022 to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services- Office of Economic Opportunity in Raleigh, North Carolina.
