CSBG – Services

The CSBG Self-Sufficiency Program assists participants through various services. Participants of the program may benefit from:

  • Employment Search and Assistance
  • Case Management
  • Goal Setting
  • Educational Assistance
  • Budgeting
  • Gas Vouchers for active participation
  • One-on-one coaching with an assigned social worker
  • Various free training opportunities which may include topics such as:
    • Work Ethics
    • Balancing Family, Work, and School
    • Keys to Success
    • Computer Training
    • Community Resources
    • Stress Management
    • Self-Esteem Building
    • Budgeting/Banking
    • General Education
    • Goal Planning
    • Women Empowerment

Participant Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and signing the partnership agreement
  • Be able and willing to work
  • Willing to complete GED/High School Diploma (if applicable)
  • Complete identified goal
  • Attend trainings throughout the service period

Self Sufficiency Does:

  • Offer assistance with crisis & emergency situations (for PARTICIPANTS ONLY)
  • Offer employment and training opportunities
  • Assists with job searches, preparation, and training
  • Act as a resource in and for the community

Self Sufficiency is NOT:

  • A bill paying service
  • A handout
  • A crutch
  • A lifelong service
  • A free ride
